I am currently a student at Appalachian State University working toward a BFA with a focus in metalsmithing and painting. My work is inspired by the female form and all of its intricacies and vulnerabilities. Thick moments of acrylic paint intertwine with washes of deep color in my paintings to show the layers of fleshy body parts and the space these figures are held in. Metal allows me to physically connect my body with my materials to create a form that embodies the emotional connection I feel with the female figure. Photography highlights many of the themes found in my other works. I find peace in capturing the way natural light and the human form interact to reveal the sensuality and transience of a moment.
